Accounting Clerk

At Leading Edge Geomatics (LEG), our mission is to provide next generation service and technology solutions in the geomatics industry. LEG has grown to be one of the top providers of digital aerial photography and LiDAR throughout Canada and the United States. As a result of our expanding product offerings, we are seeking an Accounting Clerk to join our team based in Fredericton, New Brunswick. Reporting to LEG’s VP of Finance and Office Manager, this is a full-time permanent position.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Thoroughly and accurately completing all required reports within the timelines for government departments, funding bodies and other organizations (i.e., PETL, ACOA and IRAP) as required
  • Accurately entering and updating contact information in the contact database in the format required
  • Accurately directing and ensuring that receiving, sending mail and courier packages using QuickBase Shipment Log as required
  • Reconciles processed work by verifying entries and comparing system reports to balances
  • Charges expenses to accounts and cost centers by analyzing invoice/expense reports, recording entries
  • Accomplishes accounting and organization mission by completing related results as needed
  • Posts customer payments by recording cash, cheques, wire transfers and direct deposit transactions
  • Maintains records of invoices, debits, and credits
  • Summarizes receivables by maintaining invoice accounts; coordinating monthly transfer to accounts receivable account; verifying totals; preparing report
  • Entering transactions into QuickBooks for LEG INC and LEE companies, ensuring adjusting entries are made as directed by accounting overseers, reconciling all banking and credit card accounts for Leading Edge Enterprises, Ltd and Leading Edge Geomatics, Inc
  • Responsible for managing office services by ensuring office operations and procedures are organized, correspondences are controlled, filing systems are designed, supply requisitions are reviewed and approved and that clerical functions are properly assigned and monitored
  • Oversee and coordinate expenses as they are submitted, insuring they are approved, submitted, and paid for as appropriate
  • Notify managers and employees when there are discrepancies within their department’s expense claims

Essential Qualifications:

Successful completion of, or currently enrolled in a post-secondary degree or diploma program in Business Administration, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Concentration in Finance
considered an asset.

  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite and Excel
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Experience with Quickbooks and Quickbase an asset
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent customer service, time management, and organization skills
  • Effective problem solving and decision-making skills
  • Demonstrate initiative and the ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Maintain a helpful and positive approach to all client and colleague interactions
