Job Opportunity: Forestry Project Coordinator

Leading Edge Geomatics (LEG) is currently seeking a Forestry Project Coordinator to join our team. The Forestry Project Coordinator is responsible for coordinating forestry and remote sensing projects, ensuring they meet timelines and data quality expected by the client. The coordinator will work with the company’s Geospatial Processing Solutions (GPS) and Sales Team to develop, implement and maintain an efficient forestry analysis, interpretation, and digitization system to ensure the highest levels of accuracy, data integrity representation to focus on client needs. Reporting to the GPS Manager, this is a full time, permanent, position, to be based remotely or out of the Fredericton office.

Responsibilities:

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Initiate projects and work with the Forestry Account Executive to disseminate information
  • Understand project scope, timelines, and contract information
  • Assess projects for risks and possible solutions
  • Communicate with Clients and provide weekly project summaries and reports
  • Maintain a geospatial database to track and manage project milestones
  • Processing and Quality Control
  • Data Management
  • Training and mentoring of junior employees
  • Additional duties as required

Essential Qualifications:

Must have successfully completed a program in Forestry from a recognized post-secondary institution and have a minimum of two years’ experience in the industry. Must have experience working in ArcGIS and a basic knowledge of Remote Sensing Data Sources.  A strong working knowledge of remote sensing applications and products and experience working in Forest Inventory is an asset. Equivalent education and experience will be considered.  Additional assets include:

  • Experience working with Machine Learning Algorithms
  • Experience working in R/Python
  • Field Work experience
